my choice for my own sales platform.

autonomy & connection

I am regularly asked whether my work is for sale. That is why I have chosen to offer it here, in my own space. At times I collaborate with galleries, which means that certain prices may differ depending on whether a work is purchased through a gallery or directly from me. As a result, there may be price differences between works of the same size.

By offering my work here, I am able to personally follow where my paintings find a home. That personal connection is important to me. In the gallery world, this information is often kept private out of fear of competition, but I believe that art is also about connection: between the maker, the work, and the new owner.

In the gallery

The art market is a unique reality. Galleries work with commissions of around 50%, and although these are often justified – think of trade fairs, promotion, networking and presentation – there are few galleries that truly support artists in their growth. There are wonderful, valuable collaborations, but there are also many places where the work becomes more important than the artist behind it. And quite simply, there are fewer galleries than artists.

Online platforms are an alternative, although many of them require a monthly fee to display work. This sometimes makes the commitment one-sided: the financial risk usually lies with the artist, while the platform continues to run automatically. The greater reach is an advantage, but even there, the work often remains one of many, as in a large group exhibition.

A gallery with who I am working with at the moment is  Bernice. It is an art rental and gallery where as well coöperate as private clients can rent, lease and buy art.

On the one hand, I continue to look for opportunities—for places where my work can grow and resonate. I am open to new collaborations, as long as they are honest, clear, and sincere.

On the other hand, I also offer my work for sale here, in a way that feels right to me. Because one thing I am discovering more and more, and what I personally value most, is this: clarity. And from that clarity, space emerges for true connection.
