In my work, I explore how form and meaning arise during the painting process itself. I work without a preconceived plan: layer after layer, I apply brightly coloured, quick-drying acrylic paint, allowing the painting to develop in a rhythm of impulse and correction. Within this controlled irregularity, organic structures and figures emerge, appear briefly, disappear again, and must be constantly re-evaluated in terms of their place in the whole.

During the process, I juxtapose these visual discoveries with patterns from mythology and folk tales. Not to use them illustratively, but to explore how archetypal images emerge in abstract forms. In this way, rhythms, repetitions and motifs grow that are reminiscent of microbiological processes on the one hand and cosmic order on the other.

For me, the work is an attempt to visualise how life takes shape: not as something clearly defined, but as a constantly shifting coherence.

In mijn werk onderzoek ik hoe vorm en betekenis ontstaan tijdens het schilderproces zelf. Ik werk zonder vooraf uitgezet plan: laag na laag breng ik felgekleurde, snel drogende acrylverf aan, waardoor het schilderij zich ontwikkelt in een ritme van impuls en correctie. Binnen die gecontroleerde onregelmatigheid ontstaan organische structuren en figuren die zich even aandienen, weer verdwijnen en voortdurend opnieuw moeten worden beoordeeld op hun plaats in het geheel.

Tijdens het proces leg ik deze visuele vondsten naast patronen uit mythologische en volksverhalen. Niet om ze illustratief te gebruiken, maar om te onderzoeken hoe archetypische beelden opduiken in abstracte vormen. Zo groeien ritmes, herhalingen en motieven die doen denken aan microbiologische processen enerzijds en aan kosmische ordening anderzijds.

Het werk is voor mij een poging om zichtbaar te maken hoe leven zich vormt: niet als iets vastomlijnds, maar als een voortdurend verschuivende samenhang.
